Chieftaintrees NFT marketplace live on opensea.io

To adapt to the times we are now live on opensea.io selling digital art to fund rewilding projects. This is new technology to us and we're very excited!

What is an NFT

In layman's terms NFTs transform digital art works into a one-of-a-kind collectables that can be traded digitally, exactly like physical artwork. Like the Mona Lisa is unique real-world object and might have reproductions or replicas, an NFT or 'non-fungible token' is a unique digital art piece which cannot be altered. Like real world objects, this makes these art works collectible assets. Importantly, this means that these digital collectibles hold value, can be resold and considered as an investment.

Why sell NFTs

As technology advances we want to keep up to make sure we're creating revenue streams to fund projects. NFT marketplaces such as Opensea allow us and other artists to reach a broad audience.

The payoff of this digital medium has been huge for many artists, musicians, influencers and digital creators, with investors spending huge sums to own NFT versions of digital images. Twitters Jack Dorsey's first tweet is currently worth $2.5 million, while video clips of sports such as a slam dunk sold for over $200,000. While we don't expect so sell put photography for these sums, we see the opportunity presented at this time.

Example of an NFT

Our digital artwork is NFT Photography from the natural world and landscape we hope to restore. All images have been captured by Chieftaintrees in the field and are entirely unique. An example can be seen below, an image of Swallow Falls in Snowdonia, Wales.

How to buy NFT

To purchase an NFT you will need a digital cryptocurrency wallet and currency such as etherium. Some marketplaces charge a "gas" fee, which is the energy required to complete the transaction on the blockchain, watch out for these when considering your purchase. Other fees can include the costs for converting dollars into ethereum and closing expenses.

We recommend only those familiar with cryptocurrency to get involved with NFT marketplaces at this time. For the initiated, why not get you own Chieftaintrees NFT or make your own at opensea, which you can do using our referral link. By purchasing our NFTs, you are donating to rewilding projects and gaining an investment in a unique asset.

NFT Carbon Footprint

We recognise there is a carbon footprint associated with this new technology. In 2022 there will be advances (eth2) that reduce the footprint of our NFT's by 99%. This makes it a very viable platform for funding our projects in a way that aligns with our core values.

Our NFT Collection

Our first photography series 'celtic woods and waterfalls' is now live on opensea. Be sure to check out our limited, single edition piece 'path to excalibur'.
